Dying Candle

by Bradley Peter   Nov 12, 2005

Your heart is similar
to that of a dying candle
the wind blows strong
too strong for you too handle

when your wick ends
your flame will certainly die
cease to breath the air
this we can't deny

smaller your light shrinks
the wax does the same
your body and heart dying
the wind the one to blame

almost completely melted
there's a flicker of light
though small and all alone
you continue shining bright

now your time is near
your at the end of the line
though your time was short
your time was quite divine

slowly the room darkens
the first time in years
your body goes cold
as the flame disappears
