Number

by Hello Life   Nov 12, 2005

Just another statistic
of youth gone awry
just as valuable alive
as we are when we die

society rejects
what they don't know
already judged
before we can grow

another example
of single parenthood
poster child for wanting
a new neighborhood

a rich teenage girl
too much time to spare
as long we're no hassle
no stranger will care

I'm another member
of over-dieters anon
spit and chew, watch that food
don't worry I'm practically gone

another percentage
to add
to teen drinking
gone bad

a new article
in the daily news
'teens caught in possession
of drugs and booze'

a new outbreak
of the depressed
more cutters
who'd have guessed?

wherever you look
there'll you find me
an example of everyone
that you can be

but who wants to live
in a statistical slumber?
who wants to be remembered
as just a number?
