Dear Mum

Can't you see the shadowed truth?
Our yesterday is lost
A secret love passed long ago
For even time forgot

Can't you hear me speak your name?
Did you forget what we once had?
Stolen was the faith we sought
Our eyes forever sad

Can't you feel the wind blow free?
Or feel the warmth of spring?
How we longed the happiness
The freedom that day would bring

Remember all those lonesome nights
When we had not all but us?
Memories kept to keep us both
Who thought our hearts would rust?

I never had the eyes to see
That so high my angel stood
My best of friends till dying day
Replace you, no one could

So close we bore and grew as one
Though so distant would we be
My broken promise I can't forgive
My promise to set us free

Can you hear our nightmares dance?
Beneath the stars I wait
My only wish, to bring you home
Yet we are burdened by our fate

I breath the roses that you once loved
And I sing your favorite tune
Each night my dreams remaine the same
So I can watch Daddy dance with you

I stare upon our ocean deep
Each wave rolled with tears we cried
Yet happiness does dwell within
For a love that never died

So goodnight, I whisper, if not goodbye
And blow to you a kiss
Dearest Mum with angel wings of gold
You are all I ever miss
