Mind, Heart & Body

Do we always do what we're told to
Why do we smile or sing or go to school
What determines the path of life we take
or the stops we make along the way
Are we in charge of our lives as we say
Or just tossed to and fro like waves in a bay
What are the answers to a life fulfilling
Let there be a balance between mind, heart and body
And one will know the meaning of all things duly

Does our heart always tell us whats right to do
Isn't our mind just protecting us when it thinks things through
Can our body only sense heat and cold
or chills that run from shoulder to toe
When can we be sure of the way to go
When your mind tells you stop
but your heart tells you flow
and your body says run or jump like fools
What do you do
When you think 'this is oh so wrong'
But your heart says 'don't stop, just go on'
Then your body shouts out
'how can something so wrong feel oh so good, this is all I want'
What do you do
When you're left without reasoning
By the emotions you're feeling
And your body is melting by something warm from within
When your heart hurts 'cause you need to be loved
But your mind keeps saying you're not good enough
And you just cry 'cause your life feels null
What do you do

Do you take the bold step
To neglect your calculative friend
And throw yourself into the great abyss
Where happiness should never end
Who is to be blamed if you get hurt again
And what if you go by the laws of your brain
Is it even wise to live life wondering
'Did I make a mistake,
Should I love and risk having heart blown to smithereens
Or not love and hurt yet similarly'
What do you do when the balance is even more confusing
Than letting yourself go.
Trust your feelings?
