No Kisses Tonight

It is so hard to find that one perfect love
I prayed one late night to God up above
I asked Him to send my my one soul mate
Then I met you, I believed it was fate!

Believing that God would be gracious and fair
You asked Him to give you someone in prayer
We both spoke to God on the same day
We were then put together in a mysterious way.

We laughed and we talked into many a night
My feelings and emotions I was trying to fight
I began to feel a love I had never felt before
And with each passing day, I loved you even more

When we had decided to go our separate ways
I thought my heart would heal in just a few days
I've made my mistakes, this is so true
I tried so hard to get over you.

Something to heal me I was trying to find
Yet somehow I just couldn't get you out of my mind
So perfect together, just you and me
I just wished this was something that you could see.

I fight to keep my distance away from you
Wishing the way I felt somehow wasn't true
Day to day I continue to fight
I sadly realize, there will be no kisses tonight.
