Just a Drink

by Christie   Nov 16, 2005

I see something ahead
I can not comprehend,
Praying I'll get another chance
That this won't be the end

I know drinking and driving
Is a stupid thing to do
But at the time it was okay
To me it was something new.

We just had a few beers
A couple of mixed drinks,
Until we got so drunk
None of us could think.

We began driving around,
Swerving all about
Until we hit something
I only heard a shout.

Then I heard sirens
And people starting to talk,
When I tried to get up
My body wouldn't walk.

My friends were all killed
And yet I survived
But now I'm a vegetable
I'd rather be dead than alive.

So listen to my story
And learn from it to
Because I know you wouldn't
Want this to happen to you!
