Oh my house

by Hello Life   Nov 19, 2005

The walls around me
know my fears
recognise the salt
of blood and tears

the pictures on the wall
with photographed eyes
know with experience
my grim disguise

the door to my room
shuts away my pain
within this house
a scarlet stain

the floors beneath me
on which I lay
feel the reluctant tread of my feet
that day

the whistles through the window
the ticking of the clock
the creak of my house settling
the gravel and the knock

i know this house
as it knows me
my room, my pool
my willow tree

but i can never belong here
this familiar dome
because, for all these years
its still a house not a home

blame my mother
lived without her love
lets see how she really feels
when i fly above
