I wish you were here

by Flying Phoenix   Nov 25, 2005

The cool harsh mirror
Reflects my torn face
My mind broken
Blood I can taste

Tears tear a pathway
Across a disrupted cheek
They tell a story
These precious pearls
That I leak

I can still feel what Ive done
Still perfect in my head
How did this all make
My laughter turn to dread?

I did not question
when I committed that sin
For then I did not think
Of the future reason
That Im now in

You cannot comfort
When you are not here
You cannot hold me
And wipe away
My tears

It was not wrong
Yet now it is not right
How can I survive
Alone
Through the night?

Yet in a few days
Return here you will
And fault you,
I will not
If you love me still

It was not your blame
For not being there
when I need
No mishap of yours
you would not have left
If you could have stayed

I sink back to
My broken reflection
Shinning now my face
With tears of recollection

I wish you were here
Whilst I cry myself to sleep
I want you to know
Your heart I still keep
