Ex-Lovers...who still Love

by Bradley Peter   Dec 2, 2005

I know I mean nothing to you
You obviously know it too
So why do we both continue
To do what we both do

If we both don't care
Why do we still share
The feelings that we bare
Why do we even dare

Can't stand each others sight
And when we meet, only fight
Both striving to be right
Thinking of ways in the night

You say I'm the one you hate
Yet I'm putting that under debate
Cause if you did-why'd you wait
Why after so long clean the slate

Dream of the days when you were mine
Long for the times when we were fine
When our love was true divine
And despise now when we only wine

But I think that you still love me
You want you and I to be 'we'
Together- you want us to be
And the same goes for me

You know, I think this is the way most divorce couples feel. Anyway, this poem is beautiful and mellifluous and potently captivating and so many more things that I haven't got time to write. I guess that in so many words I am saying that I love this poem. Thanks for the comments. I really appreciate them.
