Once we were friends

by *fading*away*   Dec 10, 2005

Once we were friends
Once we shared our thoughts
Once you wiped my tears
And told me not to cry

That was such a long time ago
Written in the pages of my history
Now we are strangers
Bound by a spell
Of once upon a time

But it's getting weaker
I look into your eyes
And i see someone i had known
Turning into stranger
I hardly recognize

What happened to
Those twilights
When we watched
The sun set?

What happened to
You and I,
Friends never
Meant to part?

How come I
Never hear you say
That you are a friend still?

Why am I
Always the one
who chases after you?

Why am I
The only one
Who doesn't want
Our friendship to ever end?

I don't know how
You could've forgotten
The past that has left memories
So many that they seemed to be a part of us...

I remember how
Tall and brave I'd stood
Braving the sun, the rain and the storms

I had told you my secrets
Opened up my heart
And believed it was for real
Never thought you'd
Say goodbye

Breathing has become hard
what's left of me is broken pieces
Thrown on the floor
Waiting to be picked up
Reflecting the sun's rays
Hoping you will come back
And heal my broken heart,
Wipe my eyes and ask me not to cry...

So true. i find your words so easy to relate to. friendships are such brilliant, yet difficult parts of life. they cause so much touble, yet i could never be myself should i never experience a true friend, very confusing.
all i can say is 'thankyou', i loved it, it hit home.
