Playing Chess

A broken heart is the shocking price,
Of an unbearable sacrifice.

As every turn goes on,
Each of us kills a pawn.

Leaving me with only a few bishops and a rook,
I can’t recover what you took.

As I move my only knight,
I wont give up without a fight.

My heart was like that broken pawn,
All torn, and shattered, and all gone.

I agree with ZephyCloud, I have read almost all your poems and they seem to be getting better each time, but also, the length is shortenng and that is horrible because the poems are becoming better.

Wow harsh. Simply put (in a much nicer way) I realize from darkened's ever so harsh comment that you make your poems out of the top of your head. A lot of people can do this , but a lot can't. Basically just sit down and think hard about what your writing. You will improve your writing greatly. Anyways this poem is better than the last. A sign of improval.
