Veil of Black

by xEmmax   Dec 12, 2005

You said you would be there for me
Told me I could be strong,
But now I cry your name through my tears
Without you I can't hold on.

Can you not see the hurt that screams?
The loneliness which drowns me each night,
Can you not reach out and take my hand
And tell me I need to fight.

Why does our friendship have to drift?
I pray it will never break,
You're so far away, how can you stop me
From making this dangerous mistake.

I wish you could take away my fear
Lead me from this black hole,
Wrap me up in a blanket of angels
And piece together my soul.

The silence I wish I could break with my knife
I call out in crimson tears,
My shattered heart bleeds across my skin
As the veil of black draws near.

Amazing isn't an accurate enough word to describe this poem. It's so much sadness and pain in this poem. The words flew from the page and into my head so I'm pretty sure I'm going to be thinking about this poem for the rest of the day. All sad thoughts aside, this is a perfect write.
