Rejection

It seems I have a crush,
it's someone I don't know very well,
I think I'd like to get to know them,
but it's proven hard;can't you tell?

Whenever I see your face my heart always jumps,
I ask my friends what you think,
they don't ever really say anything,
I always try to catch your eye;in hopes that I get a wink.

I'm afraid to tell you how I feel,
I guess I'm afraid of rejection,
I wonder, have you ever felt this way?
I guess I just wish I had more protection.

If I do decide to tell you,
just be careful what you say,
remember how it feels to be rejected,
and be careful what you say because;you'll pay.
