My Reflection

by Cuddles   Dec 13, 2005

I see her there, staring back at me,
hiding secrets the world will never know.
Her mouth will never confess a thing,
and her eyes will cease to be the windows to her soul.

Her body won't tell the story of her bruises.
No one will ever see the scars on her heart.
The world will never hear the truth behind the lies.
It will go with her when from this Earth she'll one day part.

So she will keep up the pretence and the fake smiles,
knowing that, like with all things, the show must go on.
For like me she is just a small actor in this great master play,
and when I look in the mirror I see her, my reflection.
