Mom and Pop

by Randy Lee   Dec 25, 2003

Through the years you have stood by me,
Though I never knew what I wanted to be.
The paths I chose were often ill,
I never seemed to welcome your will.
Mom and Pop you both tried to guide,
I would always run and then would hide.
Over the years I have caused such strife,
Yet you both kept me in your life.
So this poem is for my Mom and Pop,
In hopes you know my parents are tops.
Thank you both for the love you have shown,
You are the greatest ever, this I have known.
I hope that someday I will make you proud,
That I might distinguish myself from the crowd.
Then you can say with a very warm heart,
That is our son.
