Incomplete

by Crossiance   Dec 16, 2005

The eternal breath of the darkened world
Bites so bitterly upon my face,
As the masking smile lingers frozen there
And hides the secret pain and disgrace.

As you've captured me within your depth,
My soul secretly screams for your embrace.
As love so pure is forced to hide,
As I long for a glimpse of your grace.

You hair flows silently in the soft breeze
And your appearance slowly fades from view..
It hurts to see your beautiful face,
For, painfully, I've fallen for you.

A love of such circumstances
Can never rightfully be returned;
For it is the love of another,
That your heart forever burns.

Your rejections are undeniable,
But my heart will not admit such a feat..
So I continue to cling to a lie,
Or else leave my soul incomplete.
