My Love & My Life

by AGirlWorthFightingFor   Dec 19, 2005

My friend, you’re always the first to leave
Kissing in the downpour of rain
And being soaked to the bone
I have always loved you
Even in the darkest depths of vengeance
When I couldn't love myself
Put the gun in my hands and pull the trigger
You took your chances
You are all I’ve cared about
Like these bullets that I brought for you and your friends
You are the only one going through my mind
Until the day I die, you made me swear
You can deny my words I say are true
But you’ll never push me away so easily
I am not like all those girls who
Throw themselves like the flowers at your feet
Under appreciated and dead
I just want to take our pain and frame it
Kissing in the downpour of rain
And being soaked to the bone
We have come so far
And I’m starting to scare myself
Rejected in the murder scene
No one believes in me
In quiet moments of understanding
My glasses and your ego collide
Kissing in the downpour of rain
And being soaked to the bone
We have been so intimate, so close
Pushing each other, afraid to let go
Never stop until my final breath is gone
Kissing in the downpour of rain
And being soaked to the bone
We have come so far
And I'm starting to scare myself
Rejected in the murder scene
No one believes in me
In quiet moments of understanding
My glasses and your ego collide
Kissing in the downpour of rain
And being soaked to the bone
We have been so intimate, so close
Pushing each other, afraid to let go
Never stop until my final breath is gone

I absolutely adore this poem... It's so gritty... The scenery you've works perfectly. Definately one of my favourites. The best lines would have to be: "I have always loved you
Even in the darkest depths of vengeance
When I couldn't love myself" And "I am not like all those girls who
Throw themselves like the flowers at your feet
    Under appreciated and dead
I just want to take our pain and frame it"
Beautiful. Amazing job. There was so much feeling in it.

This is an amazing poem. The beginning was like a drug, I got hooked and kept wanting more. Then bam! the middle, and the end, wow. That was terrific! The last line, reminded me of a song by a band called Hawthorne Heights. Anyways, awesome stuff!
