Soul Searching

by DL Kendall   Dec 20, 2005

They say there is a time and place
for everything, for everyone,
and nothing gold can stay.
Pray against the changes that take it all away.
Pictures frozen in my mind's eye
that won't replay.
Wasting, my time
and my life away.
Wild horses seal their fate
to live and love in vain.
Been a writer,
been a fighter,
been a thinker,
been a drinker.
What's it all about?
What am I missing?
Lonely hearts...
and empty kissing.
Alone
broken
guilty
again.
Rain...
Rain down on the roof of uncertainty.
Where can I go?
Who can I be?
It's hard to have a cold spirit
and a warm heart
learning and searching to get off start.
Did I forget the angels?
Or, did they forget me?
Like the bird on a wire,
just need to be free.
Don't know whats true.
I've seen both right and wrong.
Lived in love's sweet charity,
wallowed in misery's song.
I feel like a stranger standing in my shoes.
I feel like theres nothing but pity left to loose.
Do you believe we can change ourselves?
Can the past be undone?
Alone
I think
and ponder whats to come
and
whether its the battle
or war, to be won.

*Wrote this today as I put it it here.
