The Darkness I Shall Leave

by cLumsy   Dec 22, 2005

A silent world of pain silently smothered me to death
What was life like? Was it real? I really seemed to forget
Just as I was about to be taken by the lonesome dark
A hand quickly reached out for me before I went too far
I couldn't see who lovingly touched me softly like this
Cause this touch was like the tenderness of a butterfly's kiss
Those warm hands cupped my face and opened up my eyes
The world suddenly seemed so clear, so warm and very bright
Everything had sound, had touch had color had scent had taste
And then I turned around to see the one that touched my face
There was no one standing there, only nothing and only thin cold air
Who had opened up my eyes and saved me from despair?
I almost closed my eyes again and the world almost slipped away
But this time a deep voice firmly said for me to forever stay
In this way I learned about God and how he saves our souls
He takes our souls in pieces and fixes them so they are whole
