Far Away

A thousand miles you ran away
I need you to come back home
I need to hear you whisper the words
I've loved you all along

Silence surrounds, so cold alone
You said nothing when you closed the door
I need you to hold my hand and say
That, you're not leaving anymore

To tell you how much I care for you
Is like talking to the wind
For still you run and hear me not
When I ask where you have been

I've waited for you, for all of this time
I will never say goodbye
I reach for your hand to hold onto
Refusing not to cry

Daddy, you mean the world to me
It hurts to see you run
To fight this battle all on your own
And lose for everyone

I know you think that I don't care
As if my love's not free
But my life means nothing, Dad
If you don't walk beside me

So I want you to know that I'll never leave
And I'll fight to be at your side
I'll try my hardest to dry these tears
And forget our crevasse of pride
