Its war

by Cassie Marie   Dec 23, 2005

Broken bodies lay about
and blood was everywhere
dead men lay throughout
and death was in the air

told to be strong, told to be tough
not to let it bother you
with 10,000 dead isnt that enough?
its not you have to do

learning to march and salute
and how to hold the gun
you came here by recruit
and told to get it done

the young men who died
will never be forgot
by the number of tears cried
lives now in distraught

coming home in a box of wood
and for your life, a purple heart
going through this no one should
dreading this from the very start

family waiting for you to arrive
instead just getting a letter
their baby boy didnt survive
the place hes now is better...?

saying their sorry
and giving them what they lack
but even a Ferrari
wont bring their son back.
