Fade Away

Theres rain on the windowsill
Theres pain at the door
This hopelessness is affecting me
Its rotting out my core

I stare out the window
At the raindrops that fall
I rush out the door
I run down the hall

The darkness surrounds me
The spiders there creep
I slow to a walk
Not murmering a peep

A dove flies through the window
It lands upon my arm
It signals peace is near
That I will come to no harm

It sits upon my shoulder
Tries to encourage me to walk
I try to move forward
My legs feel like wooden blocks

The dove flies away
I feel so alone
The peace has left me
I let out a groan

I continue in silence
Walking down the dark hallway
The lonliness grows to intense
Into the darkness I fade away
