Shadows of Your Past

I close my eyes
I see them
They're always there
Haunting my dreams

Years went by
I thought they'd leave
But every night they came back
Always haunting me

With their cold eyes they'd stare
Never speaking
Always silent
But they'd listen

When I told them to go they'd nod
Turn around and disappear
But the next night
They'd be there as if they never left

Finally I asked them
"Why must you torment me"
Their reply was
"The shadows of your past never leave"
