Sky

Stars shine
bright in the night sky
soft and velvet

The coarse contrast
between glistening stars
and the clouds

Then the sun
rises and shines
and wakes us up to get on
with our lives

Shadows lengthen
throughout the day
as adults work
and kids play

Till once again
darkness falls
and sleep calls.
