Deep Down Within

by Debra Reisinger   Dec 30, 2005

Perfect smile,
Teeth so white,
Perfect body,
Model height,

But forced to fake a smile,
Everyday of her life,
Wanting to end her misery,
Breakdown and cry,

Her scars you cannot see,
They are buried deep inside,
All the rape, neglect, and abuse,
She somehow hides,

Not wanting to go home,
After school,
Knowing what her father,
Is going to do,

A drug addict, alcoholic,
Who beats her mother too,
And comes in her room late at night,
Forcing his way through,

Crying herself to sleep,
Is her usual routine,
Waking up in the morning,
Acting as if it was nothing,

Another day at school,
Forcing a fake smile again,
Hiding her bruises and scars,
Deep down within.
