HERE I SIT

by Lost Soul 691   Dec 31, 2005

Here I sit
waiting for another email.
To read your words
"I Luv U Princess"
one more time.
But it won't come.

Here I sit
waiting for the phone to ring.
To hear your voice
call me "Smiley"
one more time.
But all is silent.

Here I sit
waiting for the door to open.
To see you
and hold you
one more time.
But I can't.

Here I sit
all alone,
without the one
I love!

Here I sit ...

Thank you Gary. Sometimes saying a little, says a lot.

I really love the simplicity and honesty in this poem-it says much more than it appears.I like the repitition of 'Here I sit', it gives it a flowing rhythmn, and the overall emotion speaks to many who've felt this way(I know I can sure relate to it).The waiting and wondering, the love and the loss, all captured so well. The ending again repeating the title, is a very powerful and perfect way to finish it up.Great piece.

Yes, very recently, with a bizare series of events. But he always said not to dwell on the "what if's", even in his last email, so I'll have to be strong. Thanks for commenting, it did mean a lot.
