Fabula Fides (Part I. Prologue)

by HansRik   Jan 3, 2006

In London lived a lonely man named Jack,
whose eyes were painted gracefully with black,
but lo! His face was tired and frail, so weak;
his soul was wearied by this world so-faked.

A heart so cold received he from above:
this poor man's heart had never felt Life's love.
To everyone his manners seemed so odd,
for blinded by his ignorance his life he trod.

His only friend had died some years agoon,
and nevermore he found a soul thus bloomed.
From then, no man had heard him speak a word.
Consumed in loneliness he cried the world.

What wishes he, if not material wealth,
orgasmic joy, a million friends or health?
We cannot know what his heart doth desire,
but men like him do seek life's brutish fire.

--------------------
Fabula Fides relates the story of a man named Jack, who never believed in joy, or in any of those fragile illusions. Instead, he preferred loneliness, until an event changed his life perspective. He realised that the purpose of life is not an engrandissement of material wealth, but rather of spiritual wealth. Parts II and III are to be finished soon.

This is flawlessly written, and the concept is depressing but dignified at the same time, and that is ofen hard to acheive. amazing stuff.
