Because of You

by Hilary   Jan 5, 2006

I knew her every agony,
The tears that filled her eyes...
The days she'd fake her happiness,
The endless nights she'd cry...
The phone calls never made,
Too afraid to show the truth...
The prayers she'd always say,
Hoping she'd make it through...
I saw the promises broken,
Those who hurt her heart...
The fears that went unspoken,
The times she fell apart...
I couldn't solve her problems,
So I sent them to above...
Knowing that one day she'd find,
Someone to show her love...
At one time she saw only rain,
But now, she's met the sun...
She can look beyond the clouds,
At a new life which has begun...
No thanks could ever be enough,
My best friend made it through...
I wish I could look at him and say,
"She smiles because of you."
