I Need You Now

by Hilary   Jul 3, 2006

Hold me tightly in your arms...
I need you now.
The pain within my breaking heart
Is almost too much to bear.
The tears that fall from my eyes
And cascade down my alabaster cheeks
Are forming a swelling puddle
Upon the floor...
It will drown me,
If I face it on my own.
Please, remind me that my hero
Is still protecting me come what may.
Show me that the things you've faced,
The tragedies you've seen,
The anger you've felt,
Hasn't changed the man I love.
Prove to that your strength
Shall never cease to be.
You fill me with an unexplainable emotion
That overwhelms me night and day.
Each moment, I wait.
I stare not at the door for I know...
You have chosen to show your pride,
To fight a battle for those you love,
And those you do not know...
Yes, I know... that door will not open
By the touch of your hand
For many months to come.
I stare longingly at the phone...
Knowing that, when your voice
Reaching my heart
Oh, my love, I shall smile again.
I miss you, my dear,
So much that words fall short of feelings.
Please, hold me now.
I need to feel your touch
To remind me that my heart still beats,
Speaking only one name...
...Yours.
