Calling Heaven

by Hilary   Jul 5, 2006

The pain just keeps on aching,
The tears continue to fall...
Staring at a silent phone;
I know that you won't call.
Can God call long-distance?
Can He send your love to me?
Help me to understand,
Why He caused this agony?
The world just keeps on going,
While mine stopped merely weeks ago...
My heart keeps suffering the anguish;
Anguish I am too scared to show.
If I let someone hold me close,
Will it be admitting that you're gone?
Will it hurt more, hurt more inside,
If I don't force myself to look strong?
I feel empty here without your love,
As a piece of me flies with you...
I never could imagine, my dear,
That our friendship would ever be through.
Are we still friends, though separated,
Are you helping me through my days?
Pushing me to go the extra mile,
Coaxing me on what to say.
Are you noticing the trials?
And helping to show me the right path.
Do you keep me safe from those that would
Fill my life with anger, rage, and wrath?
Do you hear me speaking late at night,
To air, though sad to say...
Oh, how I long to talk to you,
And it is the only way.
Can God receive my messages?
Will He forward them on to you?
I'll climb a mountain, if it helps,
There's nothing I won't do!
(To get my message to you...)
