Where?

by Bill Turner   Jan 5, 2006

Listen! What do you hear?
Sirens, cars, disenchanted voices
It is forever gone I fear
One of society's subconscious choices

Alone at night, lying in my bed
I can almost hear it in the distance
Or, is it just the echoes in my head?
Empty and hollow, a broken romance

It is forever gone from society
Once again I tried
Empty, without notoriety
I cried

It seems there is no one left to care
Just one thing I want to know
While I sit at night and stare
Where did the laughter go?
