And Then There Was None

by Lushed   Jan 7, 2006

Defeated Dignity.
Paled, she lie.
On a cushion of white.
Leaning back,
She faded from sight.

Lost and abandoned,
Folding inward,
Alone.
Secretly wasted,
In an empty home.

Callused fingers.
Dirty nails.
Fell to her knees,
At the vows end.
One down,
Two to go.

Inflated arrogance,
Lost to defiance.
Flashed out of the world.
And the final cord was cut.
Two down,
One to go.

Losing strength.
The final piece,
Lay in a sterile bed.

Fell into a slumber,
Where she would never return.
And she dreamed a dreamless dream.
The final down.
And then there was none.

Defeated Dignity,
No more.
