The soul

by Krysten   Jan 7, 2006

They say your eyes are the window to the soul
wrong
the soul is not meant to be seen
i look in your eyes and not only do i see it but i feel it
everything
your pain your joy
i see the real you
i know just how bad your hurting
but there's nothing i can do
so i close my eyes
and break the connection
promise myself
i wont do it again
but its a lie
i know i will
i cant run from it
i cant hide
i cant give it away
its mine
it was meant for me
this dark gift
this curse
this burden
pain, broken-hearts, tears, death, and lies
i see those things
they tear me apart
but still i continue to look
b/c there are those few times
i see
joy, love, happiness, dreams, hopes, and desires.
i take both
i look in your eyes and see your soul
but don't ask me what i see

I wanted to comment on a poem without comments...I've read a few without and tried to pick the one I'd be most positive about. However, they all seem to be on cliche subjects (this one included) and frankly, that's not my type of poem. I prefer originality as well as correct punctuation, grammer and spelling.
So unfortunatly your style isn't for me. I'm sure other people will like it though.
    Thanks for sharing.
