The Promise

by Free Bird   Jan 9, 2006

A moment of passion,
Unveiled the truth.
Our undying compassion,
At the blooming of our youth.

You were my untouchable,
Thought I could not reach.
But your eyes seemed of a boy so able,
That I knew I had to speak.

One look into your soul,
Took me into its grasps.
No longer was there a hole,
In my forgotton past.

As time flew by,
We learned to grow.
My life seemed to be defined,
There was something worth to show.

The bond between us,
Proved to be strong.
But I must confess,
That it was I who had done the wrong.

What you had not known
Was the fear deep inside.
The one that seemed to have shown,
Everyone time I'd tried to hide.

But as a boy of so able,
You learn to grow into a man,
And did not break your promise,
While taking me into your hands.

You did not leave me to wither,
Like the rest of my blood,
Instead you treated me like a woman,
Like everyone man should.

But now I ask of you,
At the fork in our road.
Are you willing to come with me?
Or are you more willing to go?

For it is not I,
To make your choice.
As you are now a man,
With your very own voice.

Just remember your promise,
And remember it well.
You would never leave me,
There would be no last kiss.
You would always be there for me,
There would be no last farewell.
