This Black and White World

Is there a world beyond
this everyday black and white?
where's there's always something more
than the simple wrong and right

I want there to be something else
besides choosing love or hate
and there be no judging eyes
for too skinny and overweight

can't there be more answers to life?
apart from the vague yes or no?
and no one cares the pace your at
weather your fast or slow

why do people say
that you can only be dumb or smart
that you have to do every sport
and be exceptional at art?

can there be no rich or poor?
but all be treated equal instead?
money shouldn't matter
as long as were all happy and fed

let's have no more insults
but rather save our breath
cuz that precious gulp of air
could save someone from their death

I wish we could erase pain
and not let anyone be alone inside
if we could make everyone happy
there'd be a decrease in suicide

can't anyone see these problems?
will anyone ever understand?
we could make the world so much better
if we would only lend a hand

why can't people accept flaws?
and bring peace into this place?
where everyone can be friends
no matter their sex or race

is there more than black and white?
can there be another way?
please, God, help me find some color
or just a hint of grey.
