Do I Deserve this?

Sit here thinking
holding my new wound
was is something i said
or the look in my eyes

am i supposed to be hit
for no real reason
do i deserve this
should i stand up and fight

what is the purpose
did i do something wrong?
i could run away
i could hide

i could get help
but what would it do
add another beating
or two

breakaway my heart says
run away from this life
only i can change this
and then behold

i got away
but i only pray
that others like me
free themselves too
