The Absence Of Love

by Anthony   Jan 10, 2006

I fell for you
There was nothing left for me to do.
My heart was Full,
But not too heavy for you to pull.
I'm not blind,
Or out of my mind.
But I've been fooled before.
My only away,
Has gone for the day,
And now I'm crying on the floor.
I needed you,
To help me up when I thought I was through
You weren't there,
And I doubt that you even really cared
I'm too kind,
Not to find,
A love for me
And I'm really not,
Too blind
Yes I can see
Every night I wonder why,
You aren't there to look me in the eye.
And tell me things will be okay
And help me look toward a better day,
But you won't
Return.
You won't
Heal the burn
Left by absence love.
Maybe one day
You'll hear my tears.
And then what?
You'll leave me to cry,
To be weak.
To die from the unheard pain.
Of you leaving my heart to break.

I don't favour this as much as I did with the last three poems. I don't like this type of rhyming scheme much.

The idea is a bit cliche, but your wording is great.

Speechless....I have read some of your poems before, but I never commented (don't know why)... I just couldn't let this one go by without letting you know that I love it! The flow was great...truly amazing writing. You're very talented! ^_^ Take care.
