A Rose and A Raven

by Ixora   Jan 11, 2006

He was of darkness
She was of blood
A match made in hell
Both drowning in a flood

It was lust at first sight
That soon turned to love
But each one saw themselves lower
That the other was too far above

Each saw each other as an angel
And inside they saw a devil
A symbol of death, hate and destruction
No hope could match them to the others level

How their innocence blinded them then
How the lack of it hurts her now
The inability to trust enough to love him
To want to but not know how

It was always her fault she’ll say
And she’ll slowly build up her wall
Closing him out knowing he’ll give up too
But he wasn’t like the others at all

He waited and waited
Until she peeped out
With tears in her black eyes
That he’d soon cause to drought

They never spoke a word
It was as much as they could do
But they found a sense of hope
A love that just might be true

And her eyes begged him not to leave her
Not to let her push him away
She needed him more than air, more than life
But those were words she feared to say

So she wrote them instead
Because he had taught her that
He, the man who confused her so
Her man, her soldier, her combat

So now is this love she wonders?
Or are they too young to know
“I know I don’t deserve you
But I just cant let you go”

“One day,” she says
“He’ll look me in the eye
One day ill touch my angel
Freely letting my eyes and tears cry.”

“Cuz the feelings he gives me
Oh, they’re too strong
And I’m scared he might not love me
It’s been so long, so long…”

And in his room he listens to his music
But his mind’s away imagining her face
Remembering the people she laughed with
Wishing he was in their place

Remembering her eyes
From the times he’d catch her gaze
Hoping one day soon he’d touch his angel
But what if she doesn’t love him, its been so many days…

It’s hard to love- to have the patience with the confusion
But in each other they both feel a haven
And in the end can we imagine
A happy ending for a rose and a raven?

-call it my little fantasy....
