Thirteen Hours

by Momentary Relapse   Jan 12, 2006

One hour slowly goes by
Leaving me hollow as I cry

The second hour brings me fear
And from tightly closed lids escapes a tear

Hour three is more than I expect
With slit wrists to regain my respect

Fourth hour has left its toll
Leading me down to where I should go

Soon now comes the hour five
A prayer escapes to keep me alive

Six hours pass when I try to flee
More tears and screams come from me

Seventh chime the hour peals
No one understands what my soul feels

Quietly the hours reached eight
Blood seeping from wounds coming too late

Hour nine is the worst I find
Keeping me trapped in this woven bind

Ten hours have quickly fled the day
As I cry and feel myself fade away

Eleventh hour I took some pills
Not knowing myself it slowly kills

The hour of twelve is my last try
Slowly I go no more chances to die

Unexpectedly at thirteen hours I awake
Returned to a life I had tried to take
