The Mirror

by Leighann   Jan 13, 2006

She stands at the mirror
as all the tears run
everything seems so clear
she sees everyone

In her brown bloodshot eyes
Shes sees her boyfriend
Alcohol hides the lies
and lets her pretend

In her bruised battered face
she sees a home broke
hiding no little trace
of the words not spoke

In crimson on her arm
she can see them all
laughing with no alarm
that she will soon fall

The one person not seen
the one that should be
everyone in between
but I cant see me

I stand in the mirror
watch it fade away
everything seems so clear
I dont have to stay
