September Child

by David R Merry   Jan 15, 2006

Now September,the weather turning,
Back to school, the children learning,
With breezy nights, and rainy days,
And flickering street lamps, to guide the way.

Days gone by, i do remember,
As a child, in September,
A distant memory, so vivid though,
So good, so gone, the time sands flow.

Each passing year, the world seems smaller,
With colder summers, and winters warmer,
And each day i look back, on the one before,
In search of that feeling, the one of rap pour,

Now mid winter, maybe January time?
At home with my parents, and that sister of mine!
On top of the stove, a bubbling stew cuisine,
And still it comforts me! when i recall that scene.
