Nothing gold can stay

by Gracie   Jan 18, 2006

Natures first green is gold
Her hardest you to hold

Her every leaf is like a flower
But only so an hour

Then leaf subsides to leaf
As Eden sank to grief

As dawn goes down to day
Nothing gold can stay.

This isn't my poem, but it is my fav, it shows me we all grow up, and none of us can stay innocent all our lives-but it gives us the incentive to try.
