Smile

by Lexi   Jan 19, 2006

A smile to hide your sorrows away
From the on-going time passing each second of each day
Hoping for it to deteriorate, be gone, disappear
Hoping for your despair, your emotions to sear

The pain sometimes just won't go away
Detest it, fight it, it just seems to stay
So you hide what the suffering and the hurt inside
You hide what you feel in a smile so wide

Say you're fine and deal with the unbearable pain
You've given up because life's all the same
Your past blends and numbs from all the wounds and scars
Cover yourself with lies and deceipt until you don't know who you are

Hide away from everything, only in yourself do you confide
Ignore all the questioning stares until you choke on all your pride
Fiorget all of your sullen please, the longing of tears to cry
Rip your heart out and tears it open, until you bleed yourself dry

When everything seems to be against you
When everyone you believed hadn\'t stayed true
Just believe in yourself and persevere
Put on a mask, a smile yo make your feelings unclear

Just keep smiling so the hurt won't show
Just smiling so the pain won't grow
You will regain your strength, but it might take a while
So until you insides numb...just smile
