Nothing here but people and a simple serenade

by Steevens   Jan 19, 2006

If I could freeze the cold out of your heart
Melt the heat of hate that keeps us apart
There'd be nothing here but people and a simple
serenade
To guide me on the winding paths that fill the
darkest night
I'd be nothing but a wanderer lost in the games
you've played

But my heart is tender, heart is true
And I may not mean a thing to you
I may not mean all of the things you ever made
me say
Forget the things you set in stone
Cause they will leave you all alone
You're memories of the things you hate will fade
to gray

Can we forgive the things that we forget
Or are the gone forever?
Will they come back to haunt you in the night
Or is there something better?

The never ending lies
Inside the darkest eyes
Come at quite a cost
But nothing will be lost
Cause my life goes on without a thought to what
might still remain
Inside the tainted frame
That is a fickle brain
I've got nothing left to lose, but everything to
gain

Can we forgive the things that we forget
Or are the gone forever?
Will they come back to haunt you in the night
Or is there something better?

If I could freeze the cold out of your heart
Melt the heat of hate that keeps us apart
There'd be nothing here but people and a simple
serenade
To guide me on the winding paths that fill the
darkest night
I'd be nothing but a wanderer lost in the games
you've played

If I could freeze the cold out of your heart
Melt the heat of hate that keeps us apart
There'd be nothing here but people and a simple
serenade
Nothing here but people and a simple serenade
