Goodbye

When I looked into your sad brown eyes,
I knew what you were going to say,
my eyes slowly filled and my cheeks no longer dry.
I knew in my heart you were going away.

Many tears rolled down my cheek that night,
when you told me of how much you cared for her,
Those hurtful words running through my mind,
along with the memories of how we were.

i thought long and hard of what I did,
that stopped your love for me.
I thought for days, but the fact still remains,
that's the way it would be.
