We Do What We See

by Borana   Jan 21, 2006

The little boy was about 5 or 6
When he pushed his classmate on the bricks
When his teacher said, "Johnny that's not right"
He would innocently say, "I saw daddy do it to mommy last night"

The next time he was heard saying harsh words
He just happily said, "Being nice is for nerds"
When he was asked who told him that
He confusedly said , "I heard daddy calling mommy fat
When I told daddy those aren't nice words.
He told me being nice was for nerds"

A week later a chair was banged across the room
"He probably saw his father do that", the teachers assumed.
The child was getting in trouble every single day
He was violent, mean, liar and a betray.

By the time he was 16 he ended up in jail
He could of become a famous baseball player
But, took the wrong path, and chose to fail
He got in the drugs and now he is 22 walking like a snail

This poems is to show what a child does
When he has a parent that's there for only trouble to cause
Today is the world where us kids do what we see
But if the parents doesn't act right, then who else could there be
To guide us through the path of love and liberty.

(Please Comment. I know it sounds corny, but it really means a lot to me. Love Borana)
