Papercut Valentine

by Kim   Jan 27, 2006

Dull white paper stars
Hang by strings from painted night
Silent imposters
Who've never hid from morning light

Crocheted figurines dance with
Superficial emotion in their eyes
With skin made of threads
And lips made of lies

The droning of a love song
Acts as a calming lotion
To those who breathe and move
With this articial motion

Sweet meaning exists not
In these commercialised of times
And I have no choice but to stay
As your papercut valentine
