Life's Lonely Ride

by Bill Turner   Jan 31, 2006

The pain is still real
A memory of things past
A by product when you feel
Reminder nothing meant to last

A disposable society we live in
No such thing as forever
No one can win
Nothing stays together

I learned this lesson late
Shattering my life
I will forever remember the date
Goodbye to the woman who said "for life"

I am moving on, all I can do
Living with the pain in my heart
Will there be someone new?
A fresh and wonderful start?

Only time will tell
What will become of me
Ending my personal hell
Letting myself be free

Reminders cut like a knife
Slashing through my grin
"Our Song" about life
Wind whispering your voice again

Today I feel sorrow
Pushing aside my pride
What of tomorrow?
Life's lonely ride
