Day Dreaming

by Bill Turner   Jan 31, 2006

Eagles soaring above the trees
Silhouette against the painted sky
On my weary knees
Asking the consummate why

Sitting, watching the eagles home
Symbol of strength, purity and life
Wondering how far I will roam
The ocean wind blowing away my strife

Are eagles really angels sent from high?
Destined to lead the way
It came to me, do not ask why
Just something to think about today

Circling and watching majestic and grand
Strength and power over their realm
Surveying and protecting their land
Upon their heads a kingly helm

Hold over from the days of old
Chivalrous and proud are they
Claiming their territory loud and bold
Knowing no other way

Gliding against the ever changing backdrop
Sound of the waves and sea below
Alas this perfection must stop
Open my eyes, back to work I go
