Why is it...

by InvisibleGurl   Jan 31, 2006

Why is it,
That loves makes us blind.
And we don't really see
What we're getting ourselves into,
Until its too late?

Why is it,
That we care so much about everyone,
That we don't take time
To pause,
And think of ourselves?

Why is it,
That we never really miss someone,
Until they're gone,
And regret not saying
What we should have said?

Why is it,
That one small incident,
Could change the way we see the world,
And change the beliefs that were once
Firmly stuck to our mind?

Why is it,
That the friends you trusted,
Talk trash behind your back,
As if you'd never
Been their friend at all?

Life is a roller coaster,
Make sure you strap yourself in,
And hold on tight
To want you have.
Or you may lose it.

What doesn't kill you,
Makes you stronger.
Live life,
As if you were dying.
Peace out.

I know you were searching for criticism, and I'm sorry to disappoint you, but this poem is just too good for criticism. Everything stated in it is so entirely true, it connects to the reader firmly, that no fault can be found! 10/5

Interesting - The flow was good, but some of the lines seemed out of place, and I think it would have been better to leave out 'Peace out' at the end. Other than that - really great message and well put across.

    Peace. [Sole]
